I read Emeowrald's character profile for Ralga (who's an awesome and unique char, BTW ;3) and that swarmed me with questions: How are Fraggles born and do they really come out of eggs? I'm sure they wouldn't be straightforward about that in a fantasy creature from a kid show, but is there any evidence or proof of that somewhere?
I don't remember the show much and have just started watching season 2, not having seen all of season 1 by far, so I might've missed something important. X3
But in one episode Wembley decides to take care of a bird egg which literally fell down on the Fraggles from the sky. When he says that it's a baby house and that one of those creatures' babies is inside, the others laugh at him and ask things like "how would it breathe?" That led me to believe that eggs aren't a common thing among them.
Anyway, I thought it would be a good topic for discussion. What are your thoughts?

Mabey fraggles (just like people) don't remember those first moments of life when they're born? I havent watched that episode (even if, it was long ago x3) but it may be aslo that those fraggles are just too young to understand?

That could be so... but there are older Fraggles among them, like Mokey. Now that I think of it, most of the Fraggles' parents and family members are never mentioned (except Gobo's uncle Matt), so maybe they grow up alone with no one to teach them. There are certain animals that die before they get to see their kids, like octopuses =(

I read on Wikipedia that when a Doozer stops being a Doozer (i.e. stops working) that he or she turns into a Fraggle. Here's the original link: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fraggle_Rock#DoozersHowever, that can't just be the only way that Fraggles become Fraggles. Of course, yeah, it's kind of weird to get into the particulars, but other than the Doozer thing I haven't a clue. XD

I think it's actually more of a myth among Doozers to scare them so they keep working. No normal Doozer would want to become a Fraggle. XD I forgot to mention earlier, but in the Fraggle Rock intro there's someone in the group of singers, in the foreground, holding a baby Fraggle :3 It's only for a second but so cute!

It was Brian Damage over on www.fragglerocker.com/forum/ who first claimed that the series mentioned something about Fraggles comming from eggs. Some other people have used it as well. I figured it fit in perfectly with Ralga's situation. There is however a fanfic where on Muppet Central where the writer opted to have the Fraggles as having live births instead.

If we look at it from this point:
Fraggles are most likely mammals. Surely they're not cold blooded like reptiles or fish and their not birds either. So from the biological pont of view they SHOULD have live births like 90% of other mammals. But as we know there are some mammlas (monotremes) that lay eggs as well. But the we don't know the physiolog of fraggles so we can't say fo sure that they're monotremes or mammals.
But the idea of fraggle eggs is just too great ;D Yay fraggle eggs!

Well, if it's been mentioned, then they most like do and are monotremes. And it does fit Ralga's situation better than being found live X3 The eggs are probably very small and they hatch looking like babies still.

When I'm reading the characteristic of the physiology of monoteremes only one thnig seems familiar with fraggles. They have lack of teeth XD

I don't recall CotterPin ever becoming a fraggle, must be just a doozer scare tactic. Otherwise, why the hell would the doozers really wanna work that hard building who knows what and for who knows why. lol Cotterpin was by far the coolest doozer ^.^ (opinion) lol

In the muppet:wiki entry "Fraggles" the birth problem is mentioned too. Seems like at first they considered eggs, but later decided no to go into the subject.
If I had to think of a way they reproduce, it would be like this: Two Fraggles (mom and dad) rub their tails-tips together until the tufts at the end felt. Then the combined tuft detaches and becomes a new fraggle. The tuft of the original fraggles regrows after some time. end.
Reminds me of the way Mogwai reproduce ^^

There was one Fraggle with buckteeth in one episode but I'm sure that's just for character XD
Just what I thought! ;3
I just love that idea X3 It sound so cute! And it's child-friendly enough to even be roleplayed. I'd go with that if we had to choose... but eggs are good too. I like those smooth, speckley... colorful eggs.

That is cute, and it allows for the diferant colors to be introduced and the "dna" to be as varried as it is. wtf , lol fraggle genetics.
